Ultra Lightweight Folding Electric Wheelchair Aluminium

Most powerchairs are too heavy to lift into a car boot without help. This one weighs 20 kg with the battery removed and folds in one action, so it is designed to go where you go.
For powerchair users up to 120 kg (18 stone) who want a car-friendly chair for appointments, days out and visits to family, ideally with someone to help lift it or a boot hoist.
The removable 24 V 12 Ah lithium-ion battery comes out for charging and for lifting, and the motors can be disengaged so someone can push the chair manually when needed.
It combines a folding aluminium box frame with two 200 W motors, front and rear suspension, and a five-speed joystick that mounts on either armrest.
Most powerchairs stay at home because they're simply too heavy to take anywhere. This one folds in a single action and weighs 20 kg once the battery is out, so it's designed to come along to appointments, days out and visits to family. If you need to, two red levers near the rear wheels disengage the motors so someone can push the chair by hand.
Once you're in, the front and rear suspension and 7.5 cm breathable seat cushion help with comfort on longer trips. The joystick fits on either armrest and gives you five speed settings, a battery gauge and a horn. The armrests and footplate flip up for side transfers, and there's an under-seat bag and rear pocket for your everyday bits.
Being straight with you about the weight: "Ultra lightweight" is relative. At 20 kg without the battery this is light for a powerchair, where 30 kg and up is common, but it is still a real lift into a car boot. If you are loading it on your own, or you have reduced upper-body strength, please plan for that honestly: take the battery out first, and expect to need a hand or a boot hoist. Plenty of people buy this as a car-friendly second chair alongside a full-size powerchair, and that is where it makes most sense.
Two other things worth knowing. The joystick is sensitive, so give yourself a little practice on the lowest of the five speed settings before heading out. The seat is firm and the 42 cm width is snug if you are broader across the hips; a seat cushion makes longer trips more comfortable.
Check that the 42 cm seat width, 50 cm seat height and 120 kg maximum user weight suit the user. Set up and adjust the chair as described in the supplied manual, practise on the lowest speed setting first, and check the brakes, anti-tip bars, tyres and battery condition regularly. Remove the battery before lifting the chair. If you are unsure whether a powerchair suits the user's needs, seating or environment, ask an occupational therapist or wheelchair service for an assessment before buying.
Flying with this chair: Lithium-ion mobility batteries are subject to airline rules, and requirements differ between carriers and change over time. Always contact your airline well before travelling, tell them the battery type and rating, and follow their instructions on removal, carriage and packaging.
Please check measurements, weight limits and compatibility with your chair, home or vehicle before ordering, and follow the supplied instructions. This product is an everyday aid, not a medical device or treatment. If you have a health condition or specific care needs, ask your occupational therapist, physiotherapist or GP whether it is right for you.
